Harry Potter character w/ADD?

Does anyone besides me think that Luna Lovegood manifests some of the characteristics of ADD (non-hyperactive type)?  For instance: dreamy, clueless, blurts out somewhat inappropriate things without thinking first, has few friends, is percieved to be crazy by her peers, misunderstood, yet very smart and often notices things that others don't.

I wonder if J.K. Rowling based the character of Luna on a person who she knows in real life, and if this person has ADD.

Or maybe I'm just reading too much into Harry Potter, like everyone else.

I think it's overanalyzation, personally. A lot of people daydream and don't censor themselves much when they talk who don't have ADD. Luna seems to just not care what people think of her opinions, she doesn't seem to say things that are rude or anything like that. A little eccentric doesn't make you ADD.

Yeah, there's a girl a lot like Luna in my chem class, and I want to throw things at her for asking inane questions. It's one thing to ask a question that pertains to the material, even if everyone else gets it. It's another thing entirely to ask whether something will be on the exam when the prof just freaking said that it won't be on the exam.

On my medicated days, I just get annoyed and deal. On my unmedicated days, it takes a lot not to say something snarky to her. I didn't pay $3,000 for this class just to listen to inanity and hold up lecture time.

Erm...getting back on topic, I don't think Luna has ADHD. She just seems like those people who religiously read horoscopes and believe things you see in Weekly World News.

I just started Physiology today, and there is already a woman in there I want to throw things at. Stupidest questions you can think of...and this is the first day!
I'm English so I get really snarky anyway, but this one is already testing my patience.

Personally, I adore Luna Lovegood, and assuming he didn't hook up with Ginny (which I was very happy about, btw) I was hoping it would be Luna. They have stuff in common, y'know.

Never thought about the ADD thing, but that's an interesting idea!

It was actually my first thought. Heh. Of course, you can't diagnose book characters.

Lol

My mentor at the university started pointing out "famous" people she was convinced was having ADHD, and as she did, it was like someone explained a lot of things to me that I haven't understood about people in a society before. It was strange, but my world has been strange since I entered the world of ADHD through my studies. I won't bother mentioning the famous people here, since most of them were Norwegians so not very famous in a world view... but maybe some of you have heard about the character Emil i Lønneberget of the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren? My daughter has just started getting interested in books and movies, and I have shown her that TV serie several times to teach her Scandinavian languages, and Emil is the prototype of a kid with ADHD :)
